York Chess Club welcomes both newcomers and established players for either social evening chess or the opportunity to play in local league and competitions

Our thriving Junior section meets weekly for coaching, games and analysis and offers the opportunity to enter local junior only congresses and competitions for novices up to county players
Club Night

The club meets every Wednesday from 7:30 pm in Guppy's Enterprise Club for social chess

We also run club competitions throughout the year

League Chess

Three teams (two adult and one junior) take part in the York and District midweek league

Four teams compete in the Yorkshire Saturday league

Many of our adult and junior plays represent Yorkshire in the county championships
